    About the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo

    The Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo was born in 2006 after carefully evaluating the potential of a show dedicated to not only comics, but to the cross-media attention that exists in the entertainment industry.

    As has been the result, the expo has become the single largest event of its kind across all of Western Canada. We feature all elements of pop culture including sci-fi, fantasy, anime, gaming, animation, and the horror genres.

    Sled Island is an annual four-day independent music and arts festival in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

    This year’s festival runs June 21 - 25,2017 and will bring together over 200 artists and bands in more than 25 venues throughout the city.

    Audiences at Sled Island 2017 will be treated to seeing acclaimed performers in unique venues, and experiencing bands that typically play larger venues in intimate settings.

    Since 2007, Sled Island’s innovative, eclectic programming and independent spirit have combined with Calgary’s youthful energy to produce a festival that now attracts a diverse and global audience, is praised by local and international artists, and was recently voted one of the top 10 music festivals in Canada by listeners of CBC Radio 3.

    Calgary Bluesfest celebrated their 10th Anniversary with a full week of blues in 2014.

    The festival takes place at Shaw Millenium Park, offering non-stop mainstage performances, a beer tent and nightly dance parties that run late into the night. This family friendly event draws audience members from around the world, who enjoy the grass-roots feel and fun for all.

    Past performers include Matt Guitar Murphy, Jimmy Vaughan, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Colin James, Duke Robillard, Johnny Winter, Sonny Rhodes and local favourites like Tim Williams and Amos Garrett.

    The Calgary Folk Music Festival, celebrating its 38th anniversary in 2017, annually features 70 artists from over 16 countries on 9 stages in 100+ distinct concert and unique on-the-fly collaborations at urban, forested retreat of Prince's Island Park to daily audiences of 13,000. Like a mini town, the site boasts an interactive family area, international craft market, global culinary delights, a record tent and tree-shaded beer garden. Our extensive environmental program garnered us a Greener Festival award.
